In Grabsleben, which is located in the near vicinity of Erfurt, Hessia, many participants are travelling in the same direction: since May 2010 a biogas plant of a regional operating company has been supplying a biogas upgrading plant from the Ohra Hörselgas GmbH with biogas and heat from a CHP.

The approx. 700 Nm³/h biogas from the biogas plant, which was delivered by MT-Energie, are upgraded to 350 Nm³/h biomethane and are fed into the grid of the energy company Thüringen-Sachsen (EVG) as additional gas.

Thus, more than 30 million kWh of renewable energy are placed in the natural gas grid each year.
