- Processing capacity: 500 Nm³/h raw biogas
- Feed-in capacity: 250 Nm³/h biomethane
- Input: Renewable raw materials
- Start-up Date: 2010
MT-Biomethan has built a biogas upgrading plant on behalf of the operating company Gaswerker GmbH & Co. KG with a capacity of 500 Nm³/h in the village of Drögennindorf, located southwest of Lüneburg, Lower Soaxony.
The produced biomethane is fed into the 16 bar grid of E.On Avacon as replacement gas.
Due to the high-grade gas quality in this grid, the demands for the methane purity are especially high. The methane share of the upgraded biomethane is thus up to 98 % vol and higher.
Parallel to the biogas upgrading plant a 500 kW gas engine is operated at the biogas plant. It delivers – besides the electricity production – the necessary process heat for the operation of the biogas plant (low-temperature heat) and the upgrading plant (high-temperature heat from the exhaust cooling).
